Collective Shout is an Australian grassroots campaigns movement against the objectification of women and the sexualisation of girls in media, advertising and popular culture. Since its launch in 2010 it has won many campaigns — from pulling down objectifying billboards and withdrawing sexualised children's clothing to banning sexually violent games and advancing age verification to protect children from porn. Its mission is to bring about cultural change by holding corporations, advertisers, marketers and media accountable, and by empowering ordinary people to speak out. Non-partisan and evidence-based, Collective Shout makes the link between everyday sexual objectification and the wider culture of discrimination, harassment and violence against women and girls.
